My TV (Sony Bravia, slightly old model), has a DLNA server in it (plus a media center-like functionality that can show podcasts and other videos, including highly compressed HD from the web) and can also play 1080p from the HDA, however, only MPEG streams. Maybe a firmware upgrade helps or perhaps we can add MPEG transcoding on-the-fly to the server.
