Welcome to the Amahi Linux Home Server Homepage
The Amahi Linux Home Server is a Home Digital Assistant, … an “HDA.” It’s always running, so you don’t have to!
It’s a server targeted for for home and home office environments. The focus of the Amahi server is to create a home server with usability, cross-platform compatibility and ease of use in mind.
It is meant to help the “designated IT guy in the home” run the digital home better, for the benefit of the rest of the users of the network.
More simply, the Amahi server is about making your home networking simple!
To describe best what the Amahi server is, we came up with the new term HDA for Home Digital Assistant. An HDA is like a PDA, but for the home, which is what Amahi is all about.
Every Amahi HDA provides all the things you would want in a home server and more:
- Calendaring, Wiki
- Shared network storage, Network Backups
- Printer server, Remote access, … and a few other features!
The Amahi server is Linux-based, which means it’s reliable and virus-free. The project aims to be 100% compatible with PCs and Macs. The goal is to make it a joy to install, run, and more so, a joy to use!
